And the race continues...

And so continues the building process, both for Baby P and for the house. To the right is my beautiful wife in front of our house-in-progress last weekend. The house is definitely moving along, framed w/roof and ready to move forward. We had our electrical walk-through shortly after this was taken. Was interesting, walking thru the house and choosing where you want switches, outlets, lighting positions, etc. Also, cable/phone placement if not in the standard locations. We did not change too much, added a few extra flood lights in the kitchen in lieu of some track lighting.

To the left is from the same day, Juliet and I upstairs. We are both safely within the boundries of the house, despite how it may look in the photo. Juliet had fun exploring her new house, checking everything out.

And here is a pic from yesterday, windows are mostly installed w/ exception for a few upstairs. Also, exterior doors (except for the front door) are all installed, and looks like shingles were delivered, so roof likely to move forward as well. The electricial was also buisy since our visit on Friday, breaker box installed, and the majority of J-boxes and wiring run!

We are still optimistic for closing by the end of May, but given the bad weather we had, thinking it might be more like the first week of June. Hope everyone is doing well, and will keep you posted!

My Belly's getting BIG and so is the HOUSE!

Hello to everyone and I hope you're staying warm! No matter where you are, it's been cold! The Pepin's survived the Blizzard in Rhode Island. With amazing planning and a miracle we were on the roads traveling during fairly clear days. I was shocked to see, while in RI, my car giving me a temp reading outside that was Negative! Didn't know it could do that.

Anyways, we were shocked into freezing temps that hurt your face and 12 ft and higher snow banks that when it finally snowed a bit in NC and got down to the teens and maybe a single digit...it wasn't so bad. It snowed in our house too as you can see.

But overall the house is coming along nicely. Marc's been really busy following up on little tweaks that are needed, prewiring plans and tons of paperwork needed when buying/building a house. Again, really proud of you baby, staying on top of it all!

Here are a few more pics of the house for your viewing pleasure. I know once the drywall goes up it will be easier to see what's what. This is our garage and a peek at the crawl space.

And finally an overall picture of where our house stands.

Marc took a couple other more detailed pictures he may post later. But it's looking more and more like a house! So at this point...not sure who's ahead in the growth: house or baby?!

We were soooo happy to see the house progress we celebrated by going to our favorite Mexican Restaurant not too far from our new home. Marc enjoyed a Texas Margarita (which means BIG) while I drooled. My Margarita these days consists of sweet team with a squeeze of lime. After an awesome dinner we got into our car and when the radio came on we heard "if your birthday is Oct 13 call now for concert tickets..." before I knew it Marc had me dialing in. I have never in my life won anything on the radio. I gave up trying a long time ago but OMG they answered! We were all so excited I could barely hear the announcer....and with all the confusion and lots of radio editing....I got my 2 seconds of FAME! We Won a pair of Brad Paisley Tickets...and get this the concert is mid MAY! Just before the baby is due. What a celebration!!! I can sooo excited to take my "BOYS" to a concert. (of course I'll double check with my MD for clearance but plan NOT to stand next to any speakers). Here's my short radio clip: It may be hard to hear with all the excitement (JULIET! hehe).

Well the FUN and Exciting life of the Pepin's continues.....until next time! Love to all!

Marc: the man behind the scenes

Hi guys

So you get to see the house growing and my belly growing and a few pictures of Juliet....but I thought I'd dedicate this post to the man behind the scenes (See Marc's shadow below)! I snapped a few of these pics while Marc was busy measuring and remeasuring....making sure his creation is to scale! Yep that's right Marc took an existing floor plan our builder had and redesigned half the house!

Marc redesigned our master bath, master closet and kitchen!.....with the help of an experienced mind that has built homes before (thanks dad!). Oh and we are also recreating the front entry way and added on to the back outdoor living space with an extended deck and covered patio under the deck.

Marc has caught a few errors that were easily fixed since he found them so early in the process. Here he is in black walking through all that wood, soon to be walls.

I am so proud of you Marc! With such a busy and exciting life we have right now you always seem to manage to stay on top of everything. Thank god cause pregnancy brains kicked in on day 1!

Thanks for being the love of my life!

Happy Valentines Day to all! :)

Email to Followers

Ok, so I am trying to figure out who gets emails and who does not get emails when I make a new post. I think this is tied to if you are a follower of the blog or not, but not sure...

So, on the right you should see a poll asking if you get emails, and also if you are a follower. Please answer this for me! This will help me make sure everyone who wants an email gets it. Also, if you are not a follower, and want to be, just enter your email address in the box on the right (below the poll somewhere), and that's it. I think it is supposed to email you when I post something new, but this poll will help me confirm that.

Thanks ALL!

Week 21 for Jenny, Week 16 for the house!

We have some real, vertical progress! Last week showed the foundation being finished up, and now we have actual framing happening. The first pic shows Jenny's progress, and supposedly Baby P is the size of a banana. The one area on the first floor is Juliet's room, and she was soooo excited.

Next pic is Juliet in the crawl space, and yes it is huge. There is probably 10-12 ft of headroom in the back, and still 6ft in most of the front!

The last pic is a shot from the back, shows how high Juliet's room is, as well as the back porch, which will be in the nook, and extend out about 10 ft or so. More walls are going up as I type, and i will post more pics for this week soon.

We are heading to RI this weekend, hopefully the weather is kind to us and they don't get anymore snow. Juliet is excited to play in the snow, and we will try to skate on a pond as well!

Pics from last weekend

Above is a pic of Jenny and Juliet  on the front steps on the new house. You can't really the bump very well, I will try to get a better pic this weekend. The second pic is Juliet pointing to the creek at the back of our property!

Let the race begin...

So, it is a  race between baby P's birth (due June19th), and the house being finished (May 31st pending no weather delays. In order to capture all the excitement, we decided to take belly pics in front of the house to share both! Here is Jenny, about 19 weeks along, in front of the front porch/steps of the house. After we are further along (the house, that is), they will bring in dirt/clay just 2 inches below the mel-rol stuff, leaving only two steps to enter the house.

Another Pepin update

So, things are moving along in our world. Jenny is doing well in her second trimester, almost 19 weeks along. Juliet is still very excited about her little brother.

We had our meeting with the builder this past Saturday, and it went very well. We went through some of the changes we requested, to make sure the house is built exactly how we imagined it. The only bad news, and it is not too bad (yet) is the expected completion/move in date...May 31st! That will give us just under 3 weeks to move in before baby P is due. Hopefully there are no delays and all goes smoothly. Below are some pics of the house in progress, foundation is pretty much done, support columns are done, and brick on front porch is done. You can't really see much from the shot from the street, so included some others as well. Next they treat the ground in the soon to be crawl space, then on to framing! Will keep you posted.
